Tempranillo
Wine
Fighting Gully Road Tempranillo is inspired by the wines from Spain's La Rioja and Ribera del Duero regions. Tempranillo is the fundamental variety for wines from these regions.
Most of the grapes are destemmed and crushed, with a small portion retained as whole berries. Fermentation is in small stainless steel vats, followed by extended maceration. The wine matures in Italian coopered French oak barrels for 18 months.
Like Spain's Riserva, or 'Reserve', styles of Tempranillo, the wine develops further in bottle for at least two years before release.
Deep red purple, Fighting Gully Road Tempranillo is medium bodied with rich black fruit flavours and classically firm but fine tannins. Cellaring potential is seven years.
